If you use them, comment here with where you used them! I always love to see what people create with my brushes. Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy these! But using Bark at 100 can produce a splatter effect, which is pretty cool. It only runs on windows and has a limited set of features. SAI is a small, old program and has not been significantly updated over the years. It quickly spread among the art community who loved the clean brush strokes and unique interface. For example, I like to use the Script brush at 100, and I like to use the Bark brush at 50. Paint Tool SAI was first released in 2008 to a wave of popularity. Different brushes work better under different settings. See that little number right next to the brush drop down menu? Play around with that. More detailed instructions can be found in the Read Me, PLEASE read that before asking me! The new brushes can be used by selecting them from the menu underneath "Density," where it says "Simple Circle" by default. Paste it in the same folder as sai.exe (one level up from the blotmaps folder)ħ. Copy start-sai.exe (if you don't have it already)ĥ. Paste them in your Blotmaps folder in the SAI folderĤ. I say supposedly because I bought SAI 1.1.0 from Systemax itself and some were missing but everyone else seem to have them included. With that said, I'm pleased to say that I finally got off my lazy ass finished a second brush pack!! This one is more experimental than the previous one that said, there are a lot of "version 2" brush textures in here.Ģ. Here are the supposedly default SAI textures for you to download. That way it feels more like I’m using a palette, therefore feeling more real. High quality brushes that stimulate your imagination. Speaking of palettes, I also keep the scratchpad on and put my “pure” colors there. FireAlpaca is a free paint tool that has been used worldwide, supports 10 languages, and works in Windows and Mac platforms. It’s rather like dipping your brush in water, or dabbing it on a paper towel, or adding more “pure” colored paint on your palette. It may sound like a hassle that will interrupt your workflow, but it’s not really a big deal. Also, as you add more layers of acrylics, the canvas texture gets covered over, another reason for not setting canvas as the bitmap. This is why I didn’t set the bitmap to canvas. And when you don’t need it, you can set it to 0 or no texture. Keep it low, around 10, and you’ll achieve the look shown next to Round Large in the picture shown. Also, for a drier look, you should set the bitmap as noise. In order to achieve the exact “property” of acrylics that you want as you work, you must manually adjust the blending, dilution, and persistence. Those who’ve used acrylics know what I’m talking about. Acrylics have great covering and blending power, and are able to have a watercolor-y transparent look. I’d like to explain how to use these brushes in order to achieve the most realistic look. Its totally possible to write or load your work in any image editing software like Paint Shop Pro, ayers, and Microsoft Photo Editor. Sorry to those who would prefer oils, I’ve only used acrylics on canvases. I made each size and shape separate because 1) I’m lazy and 2) having separate size/shape brushes feels much more realistic than having one brush. I’ve been making lots of custom brushes on Paint Tool Sai and decided to share it to the world! These are acrylic brushes that I created.
